Product Development
A successful product depends on the coordinated efforts of people with a variety of specializations. Daedalus's team includes people with backgrounds in research, design, and a wide variety of engineering disciplines, augmented with outside collaborators in marketing, regulatory, outsourcing, materials, and manufacturing. Daedalus's approach to product development is interdisciplinary. Rather than throw the project 'over the wall' from discipline to discipline (i.e. marketing > design > engineering > manufacturing) the firm has defined focus areas that are supported by people from several disciplines. As the project moves forward, a core team remains involved. Clients typically draw on Daedalus's services in one of three different ways. First, the firm may be used as a turnkey resource, taking responsibility for project management and all deliverables from initial research through pilot production. Second, and most commonly, the firm works in partnership with a client's internal team, forming a cohesive team with the resources needed to get the job done. Third, Daedalus provides targeted consultation services, either to help a clients team at a particular stage of a project, or to solve a small piece of a larger design problem.
