Industrial Scientific planned to follow their widely successful Ventis MX4 multigas monitor with a successor, featuring upgraded gas sensing, a help-call button, and backward compatibility with their existing attachable air pumps. Observing important technical constraints, including knowledge of the engineering and production methods to be used, Daedalus provided a modern and rugged industrial design for the new Ventis Pro 4 and 5 monitor. We identified possible next steps for Industrial Scientific’s visual brand, guided their team through evaluating early style concepts, and provided high-quality images for the Product Manager to gain buy-in from executive leadership. The final product’s style elements were then carried over to the industrial design of new attachable air pumps, extending the Ventis Pro Series.
