Meet Dan Sweeney, who will join Daedalus in January 2026 as our Software & Electrical Engineering Manager. He brings decades of experience leading software, systems, and medical device teams, as well as web applications and cloud infrastructure.
Most recently, Dan served as Head of Engineering at Tobii Dynavox, where he led platform unification, AI tool integration, UX and cybersecurity initiatives, and established a central cloud services team. His career also includes senior roles at Smith+Nephew, Lucas Systems, and Neuro-Kinetics. In these roles, he collaborated with the FDA to bring a new indication to market, conducted clinical trials in military settings, customized workflows across diverse warehouse settings, and ensured data privacy for internet-connected medical devices in hospital settings. Dan holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Yale University and graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
